During his residency at Standplaats Vlieland (2025), Mels van Zutphen explores the natural dynamics of the Wadden region with his project Waddenrecorder, translating the ongoing processes of erosion, sedimentation, tidal movements, currents, and wave action into a sound work. Using field recordings, data, and electro-acoustic sound modules, he develops a sound sculpture that reveals the hidden rhythms and patterns of the Wadden Sea.
